Let's dance and shout "Pit Senyor"

A ritual dance for Sr. Santo Niño that we commonly called "Sinulog". Sinulog is the next celebration after the Christmas and New Years day. The Sinulog Festival is hailed as the most colorful, huge and grandest festivities in the entire nation embedded in deep historical root. The highlight of the event is on the third Sunday of January when the whole City is eager to witness the dance ritual that symbolizes the City as acceptance of Christianity. It is held at the Cebu City Sports Complex. People started to get busy in what is expected to be a dizzying array of colourful celebration as Cebu City heralds the coming of Sinulog Festival. What makes the beauty of Sinulog is different places, provinces are joined together to offer their dance not just winning the prices for the contest but a symbolizes a devotee for Sr. Santo Niño.
The festival runs for nine days ending on the ninth day spectacular street parades with participants from different provinces, schools and other participants in and outside Cebu wearing multi-colored costumes, giant puppets and various beautiful floats. Actors and actresses are also here to witness the event. Every year, Sinulog has been a tourist attraction and become the most anticipated event among Cebuanos and other visitors across the world that come to visit the City and witness one marvelous event. Aside from the enthusiastic street dancing, one of the highlights during Sinulog festival is the awe-inspiring fireworks display illuminating the dark skies above with its colorful and awesome lights. And of course, speaking of "festival" meaning it is an event that should be celebrated with different foods, drinks, dessert and etc.

I remembered when my grandmother and grandfather was still alive, they have no absences in attending the "Sugat ni Sr. Santo Niño" held in Pier I every third week of Saturday morning.
They usually do that just because they want to thank Sr. Santo Niño for all the blessings that they have received and for the good health.
